🪶 Create Your Own Book

Tell me about your story. I'll generate a structured outline first — you review it, then we go to the full text. Uses your Claude API key (set in Settings).

The free structural audit (broken scene links, dead-ends, missing terminal flags) always runs after generation — auto-fix banner appears in the preview if anything's amiss. The two boxes above add Claude-powered prose-level continuity checks on top.

⚙️ Settings

Used to tag your saves and reviews. Visible to others alongside any reviews you submit.

🎙️ Narrator

Your narrator pick is remembered across books. Browser TTS is free but robotic. xAI's TTS is high-quality and costs ~$0.01 per scene — books with pre-generated xAI audio get saved to your Drive folder and replayed offline.

xAI generates audio at book-creation time and saves MP3s to your Drive. The book then plays back the pre-rendered audio — no per-play API cost.
Your browser provides the voices. If the list is short, install more in your OS settings.

🔑 API keys

Required to create your own books. Keys are stored only in your browser (localStorage) — never sent to our servers except as a per-request pass-through to the AI providers. Clear them any time with the button below.

Used for story generation. Get a key at console.anthropic.com.
Different parts of the wizard pick their own model. Defaults are tuned for cost (Haiku for everything except the story prose, which uses Sonnet). Each long system prompt is also cached on Anthropic's side for 5 minutes — repeat calls within that window cost ~10% of the original.
